Mr. ARIF PAUL

Mr. Paul is the founding Managing Director of Emission Finance Advisory. Through his managerial roles at Deutsche Bank and State Street Bank spanning three continents, he brings on board a global markets experience and a wealth of carbon finance strategies to the Australian Carbon market.

As the company spokesperson, he has delivered talks to corporate and institutional entities, educational institutions, small and large energy intensive industries in the US, Indian sub-continent and Australia. He is well established in the Global Carbon Market and is currently screening Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) - Kyoto Protocol - market based projects in India, South East Asia and Eastern Europe.

Arif engages periodically with the various Designated National Authorities (host country approval body), Designated Operational Entities (auditor and verifier of emission reduction projects) and the United Nations CDM Executive Board to understand, adapt and implement the best practise guide in emission reductions, monitoring and verifying emissions from abatement projects earning Certified Emissions Reduction (CER) units, commonly known as Carbon Credits.

Opportunities within the carbon space has led EFA to expand its operations, in the US and Asian markets, to monetising savings from demand-side Energy Efficiency in commercial properties to a more energy efficient infrastructure, improving their LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating, ICGB (Indian Council for Green Building) rating or Australian Greenhouse Building Rating (AGBR).

Prior to EFA, Arif has undertaken a series of Fund Management, Business Development, Quality Assurance and Relationship Management roles for two global investment banks, Deutsche Bank and State Street in Frankfurt, New York and Edinburgh, within the Corporate Investment Banking and Investor Services divisions.
